CEIOPS Members' Meeting Print

The competent Authorities in the field of the supervision of insurance undertakings and pension funds in each Member State of the European Union designated senior representative to participate in CEIOPS as Members. Further more, three non EU EEA States nominate representatives to participate in the Members' Meeting as Observers.

Pursuant to Article 8 of the Articles of Association, the Members' Meeting is responsible for all tasks regarding CEIOPS, insofar as they are not defined by law or the Articles of Association to be within the competence of the Managing Board.

In particular, the Members' Meeting is responsible for:

  • electing and dismissing the Managing Board;
  • electing the Secretary General and the Vice Secretary General;
  • approving the budget prepared by the Managing Board, for the following accounting year;
  • receiving the Annual Report and annual accounts of the Managing Board, and granting discharge of the Managing Board;
  • taking a resolution on the Annual Report to the European Commission;
  • determining the amount and due date of the membership fees;
  • amending the Articles of Association;
  • creating and setting up working parties;
  • taking a resolution on the annually published Work Programme;
  • liquidating CEIOPS.


The Members meet at least three times a year, but more frequent meetings can be called to make progress on the Work Programme if required.
