The Managing Board consists of the Chair, the Vice Chair and four further members, all of whom are elected from among CEIOPS Members for a period of two years.

Gabriel Bernardino (Instituto de Seguros de Portugal, Portugal) is CEIOPS' Chairman, representing CEIOPS judicially and extra-judicially. For more please read Gabriel Bernardino's speech as newly elected CEIOPS Chair - CEIOPS Members' Meeting, Berlin (October 2009).

Joanne Kellermann (DNB, Netherlands) , Vice-Chair, works closely in co-operation with the Chair and may replace and represent the Chair in case of absence or impediment.

The Chairman of the Review Panel, Mr. Michel Flamée also attends on a permanet basis the meetings of the Managing Board.

The Managing Board carries out the Association's business in accordance with the law, the Articles of Association and its By-laws as adopted in May 2004.

The Articles of Association assign the following specific duties to the Managing Board:

• implementing the resolutions taken by the Members' Meeting;
• calling and preparing the Members' Meeting;
• conducting the Members' Meeting (Chair or Vice Chair);
• preparing the budget for each accounting year and delivering the Annual Report;
• concluding and terminating employment agreements;
• reporting to the European Parliament;
• public relations work.

Meetings of the Managing Board take place regularly and always precede the Members' Meetings.
