CEIOPS is the Committee of European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Supervisors

It was established under the terms of the European Commission Decision 2004/6/EC of 5 November 2003, currently repealed and replaced by Decision 2009/79/EC, and is composed of high level representatives from the insurance and occupational pensions supervisory authorities of the European Union's Member States. The authorities of the European Economic Area Member States also participate in CEIOPS.

CEIOPS Secretariat is located in Frankfurt am Main.

Today CEIOPS has published its Annual Report 2009 and Work Programme 2010. The document provides a comprehensive overview of CEIOPS achievements in 2009, including 3L3 work, and an outline of CEIOPS objectives for the current year.

CEIOPS is publishing today an exhaustive calibration paper which is the main supporting document for its L2 advice on calibrations. The calibration paper provides background information and compiles all the technical analysis carried out by CEIOPS. Read more

Following formal approval by Members, CEIOPS publishes today its final Advice for Level 2 implementing measures advice as to calibration of the MCR and of underwriting risks in Non-Life and Health insurance. Read more

CEIOPS publishes today it’s final Advice for Level 2 implementing measures on Solvency II: Technical criteria for assessing 3rd country equivalence in relation to art. 172, 227 and 260.

CEIOPS final Advice aims at providing technical criteria that will allow equivalence assessments to ensure that the third country regulatory and supervisory regimes provide a similar level of protection for policyholders/beneficiaries as the one provided under the Solvency II Directive. Read more
